MTG Card Drive to Benefit Magikids!
Got Bulk? We’re calling on our fellow MTG fans to raid your card stash and donate any extra cards to benefit our nonprofit partner, Magikids. We want to support their effort to turn unused Magic cards into learning and fun for kids across the US.
Gamers Engaged will receive your donations in the Seattle/Bellevue area at MoxBoardingHouse Seattle and Bellevue, IN PERSON ONLY (for now)- this is a pilot program. We hope this will open up other mail-in opportunities in the future.
Gamers Engaged has assembled a team of volunteers to take your #MagicCard donations and build kits for MagiKids to distribute to Magic clubs around the country!
How to donate: Drop off your cards at Mox Seattle or Mox Bellevue, label the box
or bag as “Card Donation for MagiKids”
Card Drive Dates: January 26th - February 9th
We hope this opportunity motivates you to search your library, graveyard, hand, and battlefield for cards you can part with. Even small donations add up to make a major difference for these kids. Together, we can show what the gaming community is really made of.
If you are outside of the Pacific Northwest region and want to participate in this endeavor, you can follow the prompts to mail your bulk cards directly to Magikids in Minnesota! Details here.
Mox Boarding House- WA Giving Trees!
'Tis the season for giving and kindness, and our good friends at Mox Boarding House are getting in the spirit!
The Mox Giving Tree returns to the Bellevue and Ballard locations for the 11th year. For the 2023 holiday season, Mox is partnering with Ryther, to support their therapeutic services for young people who are struggling emotionally and behaviorally so they may find a path to healing and hope.
What is The Giving Tree?
The Giving Tree is an annual program hosted by Mox Boarding House - with help from Gamers Engaged Founder Lyla Ross - to support local non-profits' fantastic and essential work in our community. 2023 marks the 11th anniversary of The Giving Tree, and while the program has grown and changed over the years, the one constant has been the generosity fans and friends of Mox and Gamers Engaged have shown every holiday season. Thank you to everyone who has donated, volunteered, or even just shared the message. We couldn't do it without you!
Details:
From Friday, November 25th to Saturday, December 31st, Mox Boarding House Seattle and Mox Boarding House Bellevue will have trees filled with gift tags, each of which will feature an item and an age range. These tags will be for games and accessories that will be used to build out a games library for therapeutic and community-building work with the young people supported by Ryther's therapeutic services.
As a thank you for your donation at the register or through purchasing a game for the library, Mox will be offering you a 20% off Thank You coupon. Mox will also be matching donations made through the registers for each store, up to $1500!
